Budapest Christmas
Budapest Christmas 2007
Date: 29th November to 24th December, 2007
Location: Vörösmarty square
In the heart of downtown, on Vörösmarty Square the traditional yearly Budapest Christmas Fair is the most popular event held in the city during the month of December and as such it is considered to be one of the best Advent Christmas fairs within Europe.
During this time, between November 29 and December 24th, the square is filled with vendors and artisans offering hand made, unique arts and crafts, and Christmas trinkets all made from natural materials. There are a number of food stands offering mulled wine, and the fresh baked gingerbread spread the wonderful smells of cinnamon, pine and the overall feeling of the holidays. The square has a live stage with puppet shows and folklore musical and dance performers providing entertainment throughout the day. The organizers, the Tourism Office of Budapest, has an information booth present at the square, so anyone interested in finding out about Christmas and New Year shows in Budapest have the chance to do so at the same time.
All guests of the Budapest Winter Invasion campaign will receive a cup of mulled wine courtesy of the tourism office of Budapest. The special limited edition Budapest mug is a gift and a keepsake of the occasion. The coupon for the mug and the mulled wine can be picked up at the tourist information booth daily between 12:00-20:00 hrs by presenting the attendant with the Budapest Winter Invasion card.
