Many of Budapest's fine buildings and open spaces provide venues for the varied events of the Spring Festival. Classical music is very much to the fore in this prestigious season of events, but the festival also encompasses exhibitions, folkloric events, theatre and film. Some 60,000 visitors attend the festival each year to enjoy performances by artists and groups ranging from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to the Chinese Zither Ensemble, with Baroque chamber music, piano recitals and string quartets in between. The event usually comes to a dramatic close with a large fireworks show.
